This water tank remains standing at the second site of Pantano, Arizona. The station was originally established by Southern Pacific on the south side of Cienega Creek in 1880, but flooding in 1887 forced relocation of the station and rail line to the north bank. The town remained until 1956. The townsite is now protected by Pima County as the Pantano Townsite Conservation Area. |
